What is Avionics?

Avionics are the onboard electronic systems used on aircraft, satellites, and spacecraft to perform functions including communications, navigation, flight control, power management, and data handling. In modern vehicles, avionics systems are highly integrated and generate continuous data streams across multiple buses throughout every phase of operation.

How Avionics Works in Sift

Avionics are among the highest-volume sources of telemetry on any aerospace vehicle. Sift ingests avionics bus data, including MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC 429, alongside sensor and propulsion channels, allowing engineers to correlate commands sent by avionics systems with the physical hardware responses they trigger.
