Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) is the integrated discipline that combines sensor measurements of a vehicle's position and orientation, algorithms to determine desired trajectory corrections, and actuator commands to execute those corrections. GNC systems are present on all aerospace vehicles from launch vehicles to satellites to autonomous aircraft.
GNC subsystems generate dense telemetry streams including inertial measurement unit (IMU) data, attitude sensor readings, and actuator response signals. Sift enables engineers to correlate GNC channels with propulsion and structural data across the full mission timeline, which is essential for diagnosing guidance anomalies and validating autonomous control behavior.
