An Annotation is a record attached to a time or interval in Sift telemetry. It marks an event, observation, or detected condition so engineers can return to the relevant data and preserve the context of their analysis or review.
Sift uses Annotations to connect observations and detected conditions with the signals behind them. Data Review Annotations support assignments, comments, supporting files, and review states: Open, Failed, and Accepted. Reviewers can document their reasoning and track a finding through review while retaining its connection to the data.
Phase Annotations mark events or intervals for analysis and provide reference points for comparing tests. Together, these annotation types support test data traceability and shared investigation, with the assignment and status workflow belonging to Data Review Annotations.
