What is test data traceability?

Test data traceability is the ability to connect a test result or engineering finding to its source measurements, test conditions, evaluation criteria, and review history. It lets a reviewer establish what was tested, how a conclusion was reached, and which evidence supports it.

How test data traceability works in Sift

Sift keeps findings connected to the telemetry and checks that produced them. Reports record Rule evaluations for a Run, while Data Review Annotations carry ownership, comments, and review status alongside the relevant signals.

Teams add Metadata such as a hardware revision, software version, or requirement identifier to preserve the context of the review. Rule version history tracks changes to evaluation logic. A reviewer can return to a flagged event, inspect its measurements, and read the reasoning recorded when the finding was accepted or marked for action.
